Supply Chain Specialist

Our company is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to handle our product purchases. You will be responsible for processing purchases orders, interacting with suppliers, tracking orders, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and liaising with various teams within the organization. In conjunction with various departments, the Supply Chain Specialist will make purchase decisions based on demand forecasts.


  • Purchase goods, materials and components in line with specified cost and delivery targets
  • Ensure goods, materials, and components are purchased according to specified delivery and cost targets
  • Maintain an adequate stock level while handling and executing purchasing decisions · Establish, manage, and maintain effective supplier relationships
  • Prepare and raise purchase orders based on demand forecasts
  • Responsible for communicating any issues with supply that may affect business operations
  • Interface with suppliers, inventory, marketing, sales, and finance departments
  • Monitor and advise on any issues presenting a risk or opportunity to the organization
  • Prepare reports and updates as needed
  • Assist the department functions in pursuing ongoing process and improvement goals
  • Compile data on supplier performance for assessment
  • Contact suppliers to resolve issues relating to price, quality, delivery, or invoices
  • Establish the landed cost according to the company parameters in an optimal manner
  • Track and maintain order status; ETAs, quantities, keeping our database up to date
  • Negotiate the transport costs with freight forwarders · Coordinate transportation to ensure prompt and proper shipment movement
  • Manage all import documents before sending them to the customs broker for clearance
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines, purchasing policies, and procedures
  • Other related duties


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant field
  • Relevant experience preferred (3 years)
  • Capable of creating and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and suppliers
  • Data management and manipulation skills in line with business goals
  • Analytical - carefully arranges information and has aptitude for numbers
  • Strong computer skills (Suite Microsoft office - Excel, Word)
  • Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Able to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets
  • Knowledge of the function's implications from a commercial and financial perspective
  • Able to work under pressure and stressful situations · Accuracy and keen attention to detail
  • Familiarity with SAP would be beneficial · Good knowledge of Import and export processes and documentation (an asset) · Fluently bilingual (English and French, oral and written
